Hartley Relays 2013

Details of this year's Hartley Cup Relays are as follows. Please let us know if you would like to take part.


Forfar Loch Country Park Sun 17 Nov 2013 – 11am Start




Race Registration: 9.30-10.30 am @ Strathmore Rugby Club, Inchmacoble, Forfar, DD8 1RL. All teams must register on race morning. Changing facilities and toilets will be available in the club house.Race Start will be at 11 am at the loch side path in front of the Rugby Club.

Parking will be available at the Rugby Club and nearby. Race marshals will direct the parking. Please car share where possible.

Race Format



Relay race for teams of 6 (Men) or 5 (Women / Mixed / Juniors). Race comprises 12 laps (Men) or 10 (Women / Mixed / Juniors 13-17) each runner running twice (non-consecutive laps). Junior 12-and-under teams will run 5 laps, with each runner running a single lap. Race route is roughly 1 mile long and follows paths along the loch side and through woodland. The route is flat and on decent paths/trails. Trail shoes are recommended but road shoes would also be suitable. As usual, each team will record its own lap and cumulative times (forms will be provided). Each team will be given a baton to exchange between laps.

The prize giving and post-race feed will take place in the club house directly following the race. There will also be a licensed bar which will be open from 1pm onwards. Please can the current trophy holders make sure that these are returned to race registration on the morning of the race.

Team Entry

Entries will be taken on the day, only. Please complete the attached entry form for each team and provide to organisers at race registration by 10.30am at the latest.Entry forms must be accompanied by a separate parental permission form for each junior runner under the age of 16.

Templeton 10 Mile Results 2013

Thank you and well done to everyone who made this year's 10 mile race another success!


We had 227 runners taking part on what was a bright but blustery day, making running conditions challenging. Neither that nor the little road block could stop the enthusiasm of the runners though, and we had some brilliant results today.

The race couldn't have happened without the 26 marshals who gave up their time, and stood out in the cold, to make sure you were all safe, so we are very grateful to them. The amazing spread of homebakes at the end was also down to the efforts of our DRR runners, which we hoped made up for having to run in the cold!

Whether this was your first Templeton 10, or you are a regular, we hope you all enjoyed your day. The race is a tough but scenic course, one which we love, and we hope to see you all back next year!

Santa Run

Our next club race is the annual Santa run. It will be held on December 17th starting from the Union.

For those who haven't done a Santa run before, it is a club race with teams of three, chosen so that each team has a fast, medium, and slower runner. The task is to find Santa's reindeer who have escaped and hidden around Dundee. You must round them up and return to the union as a pack. The first team returning together with three reindeer wins.

Fancy dress is optional, but does add to the festive spirit.

We will then have musical entertainment from our club boyband, with food and drinks to warm us up, in Drouthy's. The club will be providing food for everyone, so please come along and join in the festivities!

Club AGM 2014

The 2014 club AGM will take place on February 18th at 7.30pm in the Carnegie room of the Dundee University Students' Union. All previous, current and prospective members are welcome.

Please come along to have your say on the future of the club. We will be looking for new members of the committee, so if you are interested, please speak to one of the current members. We will also have membership forms for the following year, so please bring your pennies to sign up!

2014 AGM

Thank you to everyone who came along for our AGM on Feb 18th. It was a successful meeting, with a good turnout, and we already have 41 members signed up for next year!

Goodbye to our leaving committee members; Kirsty Gibson, Michelle Cooper, Jennifer Massie, Sarah Winter and Gerrarde Browne. All have done a lot for the club over their time on the committee, and we thank them for their contributions.
