About us

Dundee Roadrunners have been running since 1984, around the streets of the city and into the surrounding countryside. Every member has a story of personal achievements and enjoyment gained from running.

We have a healthy membership of men and women, young and old, of widely varying abilities. Fresh faces and legs are always welcome to come and join us. You will find not only people to run with, and lots of tips from "experts", but also a good social atmosphere.

If you would like to find out more about joining, you can use the contact form here.

We meet four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Monday: trail runs where we travel around the area for some good hill, flat and in-between routes. Meeting venues vary each week, and details are available on the website calendar. These runs are done as a group, so no one is left behind.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays we meet at Dundee Students Union (in the foyer) 6.20pm for a 6.30pm start.  On the first Tuesday of every month from April to September, we meet at Clatto Park.  From October to March we meet for the Galaxy run.  The location for this is changing in 2017, more information will be available nearer the time.

Tuesday: routes will be 6, 8 and 10 miles and newcomers will get paired with a member of similar pace. We always have a tail runner to make sure we don’t lose anyone! The routes are available to view in the 'Training' section of the website.

Thursday: we have coaching sessions organised by our coach, Ged, supported by a growing number of our members.  These alternate between short reps, long reps and hill reps. Sessions are three groups according to pace.   They are a good way to meet other runners as we all train in the same area together.  Ged will also be happy to assist if you have any questions on training. Our calendar will show which session is when.

Sunday: our long run days. We meet at 8am from various meeting points. Information is posted on the calendar.
