On a bright but breezy night 40 DRRs (in a field of 93) tackled the very undulating tarmac hills around the park and golf course. A far more challenging race than the traditional 5K grassy course in St. Andrews, but a far more interesting and scenic route.
David Webster and Mairi Littleson were once again the top DRR finishers, with David placing first in the overall race and Mairi finishing 3rd woman. Congratulations both. Full results are available on the Fife AC website.
Current overall Age Category leaders are Mairi Littleson, Louise Menzies, Gail Stirling and Barbara Brown, with David Webster, Geoff Campbell, Michael Mitchell and Malcolm Forbes leading for the men. Well done everyone.
Unfortunately this race will not count towards our 5 mile fastest times or age grade standards. Measuring 4.65-4.70 miles it’s well outwith any margin for error. We still have the Brig Bash and club 5 mile race; both of which are much flatter and faster and are better opportunities for a fast time.
Even if you have missed any or all of the first three Grand Prix, there are still plenty of races left to complete the Grand Prix (6 from 10), or just participate in what are some of the best local races.
Next up in the Grand Prix Series is the Tay Ten on Sunday 30th of April. This race however is full, so it’s too late to enter if you are not already signed up.
