Templeton Trail Race
The Templeton Trail Race is an approximately 6 mile race in Templeton Woods. The 2025 race will be at 11am on Sunday 3rd August.

The race is a modest introduction to trail racing, ran mostly on well-defined park paths, but with some trail path and short climbs. It is a one lap route around Templeton Woods. The race is intended as a fun introduction to trail running. It is open to anyone over 18 years and over.

Registration will be open from 9.30am at the Clatto Centre, Clatto Reservoir, where numbers can be picked up for those who have pre-entered. If there are fewer than 200 pre-entries, then a limited amount of on-the-day entries will be available until 10.15am.

The Start: The location of the start will be near the Clatto Centre and will be well signposted on the day.
Changing: Changing facilities are minimal, so please arrive ready to run. There are no showers available. There will be a space to leave your kit, but the organisers will not accept responsibility for the loss of or damage to belongings left there.
Car Parking: Limited car parking is available at the Clatto Centre and on the approach road. Please follow the directions given by the car parking stewards and please have consideration for the local residents. You can also park at either the Templeton Woods Nature Hut off Templeton Road or at Camperdown Park and jog to the start.
Route: The route is approximately 5.5 miles in and around Templeton Woods and will be marked with tape and flour, and marshals at the route junctions.
First Aid: First Aid cover will be provided.
The Finish will be near the start. A course map will be available to view on the day.
Refreshments: Cold drinks will be available and our wonderful spread will be provided at the picnic area.
Results: Preliminary results will be published on Webscorer shortly after the race and final results will be on our website (www.dundeeroadrunners.co.uk/results) and Scottish Athletics website within a week of the race.
Prizes: It is hoped to start the presentations at about midday in front of the Clatto Centre. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Male & Female 1-3, M & F Vets (40-49) winners, M&F Vets (50-59) winners, M&F Vet’s (60-69) winners, M&F Vet’s (70-79) winners. There will also be a prize for the first Male and Female clubs (3 runners to count).
If you failed to fill in your age on the entry form, you are classed as aged 20-39. If you fail to list a club, you will be assumed unattached and not eligible for team prizes.
Transfer of entries/Deferrals: We will allow entries to be transferred (this must be done through the organisers). There will be no refunds or deferrals.
